Slow progress
But I do enjoy stitching on this when I get the minute or two to do so. Working on this during my lunch hour at work, bringing me some solace and a bit of balance during my hectic day.

Finally Finished
With Tropical Storm Irene making it the perfect day to stay indoors and stitch, I was able to finish up my piece on Sunday. Now to keep an eye out for a great 60% coupon from AC Moore to get it framed!

Finished Stitching
Revised: 8.28.11
Just thought I'd pop a photo of the framed piece in here. I was lucky enough to find THE frame I wanted to use in the right size on sale at Hobby Lobby last week! How's that for timing?
My goal was to finish in early August. That just didn't happen, but the stitching IS finished. Woo Whoo! I enjoyed this piece, and am trying now to decide on the framing. Wait a minute - shouldn't those birds have eyes? I need to browse around to see how y'all have finished yours!

Part 2 Finally Done!
It's taken me much longer than I planned but I finally finished part 2 today. I'm off to start working on part 3 with the hope of getting it all completed by the end of the month.
Still working on pt. 2
I decided to continue using WDW's Tabacco Road for the alpahabet; I hope I made a the right decision. We'll see?? LOL I finished the alpahabet last night and started on a blue bird. I am going to stitch on it all day today and will post a new picture tomorrow.

Finally finished
Well here it is in all her glory. I was able to wrap it up yesterday late afternoon and then enjoy studying upon it all evening. I LOVE IT. I might add I am proud to have finished it in good order too, staying focused on one project at a time helps that situation. It is obvious that I need to use something other than my iPhone to take the pictures though. You get the idea.....it's a keeper. I did order the frame that Brenda used in her pattern and I do believe it will be perfect. My start date was May 15 - July 24 and man did it use a lot of Kudzu! This was stitched on 35 ct with 1 strand of WDW on the Confederate Grey fabric called for in the pattern.

Part III
Hello everyone. Good Monday morning. I was so excited to start this post because I have embarked on this new blogging experience AND I have a picture to add! :) Corny I know but for someone who has cross stitched for the better part of my life, this is all new to me. I love it. So here it is; I picked up my piece at the LNS on Saturday and stitched on it ALL day yesterday. I know when I typed that I thought the same thing....is that all she could accomplish in one day but the answer to that is yes, that is it. But I am convinced I could have a finish by the weekend. Will keep you posted.

This is my very first blog post EVER! I will post a picture on the next entry. I have completed through Part II and my piece is hanging at the LNS to entice stitchers to jump in on the fun. I have loved stitching this piece and enjoyed the excitement of the mystery. All our guesses were wrong about Part III but I love what was revealed. It is going to be so much fun to to finish this beauty.

I'm Carrie from Northern Virginia ~ and have all the Mystery Sampler goodies to date. I ordered through Needlecraft Corner in Baltimore, Maryland. My goodies include the WDW threads called for in the pattern and 35 ct Confederate Gray linen. I have been sidetracked from a few work events and so will start #1 this weekend. I received #2 and can't wait to get to that point!
I love the photos each of you have posted and am looking forward to kicking off my weekend with starting the sampler. I will post my progress once I complete a few of the outer border ;-)
Take care,

I know there isn't any time line to this SAL; it just is so much fun to stitch; I want to get to part 2 now. LOL

This is as of yesterday afternoon - June 16th. I just started part 2, but I have something else I need to work on for the next several days, so this will be put away until I'm finished with it. It really is straight - I just took the picture from the side! :-)

Got my frame done!
Frame is done! I finished on Monday evening but didn't get a chance to take a photo until tonight.
It's a lousy photo because of the lighting but it's done! And just in time because the 2nd part should be arriving shortly. It's wonderful to see everyone else's progress. This is such a great project to work on isn't it?

Mystery Lover
Hey, all you mystery lovers! I'm stitching on 36ct Lakeside Linen - Lentil using the suggested WDW overdyed fibers. Seeing that part two is out should make me get on with stitching part one, shouldn't it? I decided not to pick up part two until part one is finished - think that tactic will work? I have stitched a bit more than this - this photo was after Saturday night's progress.
Thanks for allowing me to join in with the SAL - it will be great fun watching all your progress!

Hello from Virginia!
My name is Cindy Hawkins, I live in the northernmost part of Virginia. I received my kit a couple of weeks ago from Country Sampler in Wisconsin. They say part 2 should be mailed out next week! I finally got it out and put my first stitches in today. I chose the 40 count Confederate Gray, and the Weeks threads. I'm kind of surprised at how little contrast there is between the border thread and the fabric...it seems like some of the photos of other peoples starts look very different from mine. Maybe they were using fabric and threads other than what was called for?
Excited to be a part of this group, and can't wait for our "mystery" to be "solved" when we see our finished samplers!

Hello from Germany...
Hello my name is Sylvia and I live in Germany.
Many thanks to Amy, who opened this blog. It is a great idea to stitch this SAL with many other stitchers.
Is there anybody else from Germany here?
It was a little difficult for me to get to the pattern, but now everything is here and I began to stitch yesterday....
I cannot wait to stitch the whole first part.
I love the design already now.
I stitch on 36count Lakeside Linen Vintage Buttercream with
the original colours of Weeks dye works thread.

Hello my name is Bertie, and this is my first Mystery SAL. The other SAL this year was Mary Glover, my aim is to finish this one too:))
The linen is Confederate Grey 35 count, the recommended WDW colours but am using 1 thread only on the whole sampler. It's a pleasure to stitch Mystery so far on this wonderful linen -)
Have a sunny stitching week:))

My first progress picture....
I had planned to post a picture sooner, but I've been super busy the past few days. This is where I'm at as of today, June 4th...
I'm stitching on 36 ct Vintage Meadow Rue from Lakeside (and LOVING IT!) using the WDW floss. Not great progress, but at least it's something. I'd love to have the border finished by the time part 2 arrives, but don't know if I'll get that far - one can hope!
Have a great "rest of the weekend" & happy stitching,

First SAL, first mystery
Hello everyone,
I'm happy to join my first SAL for my first mystery ! I'm Danielle, almost 51 and I live in Brussels, Belgium. I like to stitch but I have no experience of blogs nor mysteries.
I have the Birds of a Feather chart and I started with a piece of cream linen that I had in my stash and that I tried to overdye - kind of - with coffee. It's 40 ct and I stitch with 1 thread over 2. I began with threads from Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe but I’m waiting for the Weeks Dye Works threads called for that I ordered after changing my mind. I don't have a blog and I'm far from being an IT-expert :). I'm happy to participate and thankful to all the american women that gave me the opportunity those last years to learn patchwork, appliqué and embroidery. I only discovered the blogs world a few weeks ago. And it was fine to discover so many women loving what they do just like me.
Kind regards,
Danielle

Hi, Everyone -
I am Bobbi and I live in Ohio. We got a group of eleven together that are planning to stitch Birds of a Feather. Some have started, some have not. I am almost half way around the border. I would like to think I could complete it by the time the second installment arrives, but who knows. Sometimes life...or other projects...get in the way!
I can't post my photo today...at least not until later. Thursday is my babysitting day for my 10 month old great granddaughter. Quite a challenge, but oh, so much fun! I did start a SAL blog for our little group - participation is light because some are not that into computer things.
I am stitching my sampler on the 40 count Confederate Grey linen. So far I have used the threads called for, and like the result. A friend of mine is stitching hers on different linen with a few different threads, and hers is looking good too.
Looking foward to seeing completed samplers this summer.

Ready to Stitch
Hi -- I have my supplies - 40 count Confederate Gray, and the beautiful Weeks floss -- but I am thinking of waiting a bit before I start stitching. I have been working on the Blackbird's Anniversaries of the Heart on one large piece of fabric. While waiting for the last pattern in that series to arrive, I stitched Brenda Gervais' Soar Sampler and took that to the framer yesterday. Now I am wrestling with starting a new project -- the Mystery SAL -- or finishing up the Anniversaries piece. I hope to have stitching time today, and make that decision.
I am so looking forward to seeing everyone's progress on this beautiful sampler. And I am thrilled that we have no specific deadlines. My only other SAL experience was on a year-long Needleprint Beatrix Potter Quaker sampler, that required us to post progress each month. I loved the encouragement from other stitchers, and finally finished stitching it but it took me over a year and half.
Happy stitching everyone,
Sharon

Waving hello from Australia
Hello to all :)
This is my first mystery ever. Can't go wrong because I do love all the designs of Brenda and I do love birds.
Anyway, I'm Gabi, living with husband and youngest daughter in Australia.
Today (finally) all supplies arrived and I LOVE the colors - floss and fabric.
I'm stitching it on 35ct WDW Confederate Grey with the recommended fibers and planning to use 2 strands over 2.
Happy stitching to everybody

Housekeeping
Hello everyone! I have been adding member names to the sidebar today and trying to do some general blog housekeeping. Please let me know, on this post, if I have listed your name incorrectly. If you have a nickname or different spelling, please let me know and I will change it as quickly as possible.
I have two exchanges due by the first of June so I have yet to start my sampler. I feel like I may have lost a little of my mojo, so any support would be greatly appreciated.
Remember to please post your introductions. Thanks and have a great holiday weekend (for all our USA babies out there)!

Hi everyone! This my first ever blog posting and my first ever mystery sampler. I am looking forward to working this sampler and sharing this experience with all of you. I picked up my part 1 chart, fibers and fabric (30 count), and am anxious to get started. I know that I love the colors already and can hardly wait to see the sampler take shape on the fabric. Hello everyone
A SAL Mystery Sampler. Can't wait to get my fabby. I've ordered a slightly different color, Sea Fog, a 30 ct R&R Linen. Hope it looks good with the floss. Xing my fingers it does. It wil not get here till the middle of next week.
I am currently working on Blackbird Designs, Anniv Of The Heart, doing all on one piece of fabby. I'm getting a little burned out on houses, so looking forward to a change of "scenery" shall we say.

Hello!
Hi there! I'm Patti and I post at Stitching in Lobster Land. I've been stitching for way more years than I care to count because then I'd have to think about how old I will be this birthday - and it's getting to be a much higher number! I live in Southern Maine at the moment.
I'm excited to be part of this SAL and received my chart and fibers on Monday. I am stitching my piece on 30ct. WDW Confederate Grey linen with the WDW fibers. I made a little bit of progress and am really liking the piece so far. I can't wait to see what everyone else's choices are and follow their progress.
Thank you Amy for getting us started on this project and giving us space to blog about it.

I'm So Excited
This is my very first mystery sampler and it is my first time hosting a blog so please be patient with me while I learn the ropes. This should be a very fun summer project. I just adore Brenda's designs and having something new to anticipate is so exciting.
Please introduce yourself to all of us since we will be spending the summer together! Most importantly have fun and please don't forget to post your progress so that we may cheer each other on. Also, please let us know the details of your sampler. I am stitching mine on 35 count Confederate Grey fabric as called for on the chart.
