I need your help..

I started stitching the alphabet using WDW's Tabacco Road; what do you all think of it? I like it; but I'm asking for your option. I'm not gonna stitch on the alphabet anymore til I get some of your options.. Thank you..

Hugs, Shar

  1. From what I can see in your photo the colors in that skein seem to match the colors in the sampler really well. I tend not to care for over dyes in different colors, especially on lettering, but that's nothing more than my personal preference. If you like it, go for it.

Also, since you asked, I got some advice in a similar situation from a designer that I stitch with, and she suggested that most of the time you don't want your alphabet to be the focal point in a sampler like this.

This from someone who has not yet finished part one. I'll be interested in what you decide. All depends on your likes and dislikes. Good luck!

  2. I like the color and I don't think you can really go wrong with it. Looks to me as if both colors of "Tobacco Road" are suiting very nice. Although it's not easy to determine a color on a computer screen , but I don't think that matters much.
You obvious like the look of the alphabet standing out more, and then any color that suits the existing colors and stands out on the fabric, will do. Lots of colors would fit in nicely.
Personally I do like over dyes a lot. And I like your choice.
But I do agree with Bobbi. It depends completely on your likes and dislikes. In the end it's your wall where it will hang isn't it?
Curious too what the verdict will be :)

  4. Yes Shar, agree with the Bobbi & Gabi, it's such a personal thing and changing colours makes it your sampler. The colour matches:))
