Another Hello from Virginia!

I'm Carrie from Northern Virginia ~ and have all the Mystery Sampler goodies to date.  I ordered through Needlecraft Corner in Baltimore, Maryland.  My goodies include the WDW threads called for in the pattern and 35 ct Confederate Gray linen.  I have been sidetracked from a few work events and so will start #1 this weekend.  I received #2 and can't wait to get to that point!

I love the photos each of you have posted and am looking forward to kicking off my weekend with starting the sampler.  I will post my progress once I complete a few of the outer border ;-)

Take care,
Carrie

Sorry for the wrinkles, and terrible photography!  This is my Mystery Sampler as of yesterday...my Part 2 also arrived in the mail yesterday.  My goal is to have part 1 finished by July 1, then plan to have July to do part 2 and August to do part 3.

I better get busy...

After seeing how far everyone is I better get busy; besides I got part 2 in the mail today from DSL and I really want to do it. :) I'm off work Monday & Tuesday; hopefully I'll get part 1 done or at least close to being done. I know there isn't any time line to this SAL; it just is so much fun to stitch; I want to get to part 2 now. LOL

Part I Progress

I'm still catching up with Part I, and hope to have it finished by the end of the weekend!

Update as of June 16th..

This is as of yesterday afternoon - June 16th.  I just started part 2, but I have something else I need to work on for the next several days, so this will be put away until I'm finished with it.  It really is straight - I just took the picture from the side! :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Got my frame done!

Frame is done!  I finished on Monday evening but didn't get a chance to take a photo until tonight.

It's a lousy photo because of the lighting but it's done!  And just in time because the 2nd part should be arriving shortly. It's wonderful to see everyone else's progress.  This is such a great project to work on isn't it?

Mystery Lover

Hey, all you mystery lovers! I'm stitching on 36ct Lakeside Linen - Lentil using the suggested WDW overdyed fibers. Seeing that part two is out should make me get on with stitching part one, shouldn't it?  I decided not to pick up part two until part one is finished - think that tactic will work?  I have stitched a bit more than this - this photo was after Saturday night's progress.

Thanks for allowing me to join in with the SAL - it will be great fun watching all your progress!

Part 2 is out now.....

I don't have Part 1 finished, but Part 2 just came through the door at Down Sunshine Lane - it's great!!! - can't wait to get to stitching on it.  I think it will go faster thanPart 1!! :-)

Happy stitching all,

Hello from Virginia!

My name is Cindy Hawkins, I live in the northernmost part of Virginia. I received my kit a couple of weeks ago from Country Sampler in Wisconsin.  They say part 2 should be mailed out next week!  I finally got it out and put my first stitches in today.  I chose the 40 count Confederate Gray, and the Weeks threads.  I'm kind of surprised at how little contrast there is between the border thread and the fabric...it seems like some of the photos of other peoples starts look very different from mine.   Maybe they were using fabric and threads other than what was called for?

Excited to be a part of this group, and can't wait for our "mystery" to be "solved" when we see our finished samplers!

Hello from Germany...

Hello my name is Sylvia and I live in Germany.
Many thanks to Amy, who opened this blog. It is a great idea to stitch this SAL with many other stitchers.
Is there anybody else from Germany here?
It was a little difficult for me to get to the pattern, but now everything is here and I began to stitch yesterday....
I cannot wait to stitch the whole first part.
I love the design already now.

I stitch on 36count Lakeside Linen Vintage Buttercream with
the original colours of Weeks dye works thread.

Daisy in Missouri

Just received my package from Attic Needleworks and it is Vintage Meadow Rue with the silks and I can't hardly wait to start so glad that I waited for the silks as they are great to work with and hope t0 post a picture later in the week if I make progress. Enjoy seeing all the progress everyone has made and the different fabric. Happy stitching

Start of the Mystery SAL

Hello my name is Bertie,  and this is my first Mystery SAL. The other SAL this year was Mary Glover, my aim is to finish this one too:))

The linen is Confederate Grey 35 count, the recommended WDW colours but am using 1 thread only on the whole sampler. It's a pleasure to stitch Mystery so far on this wonderful linen -)
Have a sunny stitching week:))

My first progress picture....

I had planned to post a picture sooner, but I've been super busy the past few days.  This is where I'm at as of today, June 4th...

I'm stitching on 36 ct Vintage Meadow Rue from Lakeside (and LOVING IT!) using the WDW floss.  Not great progress, but at least it's something.  I'd love to have the border finished by the time part 2 arrives, but don't know if I'll get that far - one can hope!

Have a great "rest of the weekend" & happy stitching,
AmySC

First SAL, first mystery

Hello everyone,

I'm happy to join my first SAL for my first mystery ! I'm Danielle, almost 51 and I live in Brussels, Belgium. I like to stitch but I have no experience of blogs nor mysteries.
I have the Birds of a Feather chart and I started with a piece of cream linen that I had in my stash and that I tried to overdye - kind of - with coffee. It's 40 ct and I stitch with 1 thread over 2. I began with threads from Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe but I’m waiting for the Weeks Dye Works threads called for that I ordered after changing my mind. I don't have a blog and I'm far from being an IT-expert :). I'm happy to participate and thankful to all the american women that gave me the opportunity those last years to learn patchwork, appliqué and embroidery. I only discovered the blogs world a few weeks ago. And it was fine to discover so many women loving what they do just like me.
Kind regards,

Danielle

Hi, Everyone -

I am Bobbi and I live in Ohio.  We got a group of eleven together that are planning to stitch Birds of a Feather.  Some have started, some have not.  I am almost half way around the border.  I would like to think I could complete it by the time the second installment arrives, but who knows.  Sometimes life...or other projects...get in the way!

I can't post my photo today...at least not until later.  Thursday is my babysitting day for my 10 month old great granddaughter.  Quite a challenge, but oh, so much fun!  I did start a SAL blog for our little group - participation is light because some are not that into computer things.

I am stitching my sampler on the 40 count Confederate Grey linen.  So far I have used the threads called for, and like the result.  A friend of mine is stitching hers on different linen with a few different threads, and hers is looking good too.

Looking foward to seeing completed samplers this summer.

Waiting on my Pattern

As soon as my chart arrives, I will be starting the SAL!  Can't wait; I am perusing my fabrics to see what I will use, most likely a 28 or 25 ct.

Sue

I am almost ready! June 1,2011

This Sat. I am going to my LNS to purchase the floss to do it with. I have the pattern, and I am doing it on Picture This Plus Doubloon.
Paula

I'm stitching too.....

I don't have much done yet, but at least it's started! I'll be back later (hopefully tonight) with a progress picture.

Thank you to Amy for the invite! :-)

Happy stitching all,
Amy in SC

Part one finished

It's finished!!!  Part one that is.  Waiting now rather impatient for the second part because I'm officially addicted to this little sampler.
